What to do in 8-10 days – Thailand itinerary

If you are going to Thailand, Bangkok, Krabi, Phi Phi Island or Krabi for 8-9 days then you’ve come to the right place. A ready Thailand itinerary is waiting for you. You will find here what to do in Thailand and what you need to buy before the trip, where to find cheap flights and where to book a private taxi. Which temples are the best to see and where to find the best food.

3. Pack yourself and go.

Bangkok (2 nights):

1 day:

• The pillow hostel – 7/10 – 250 baht/pp in 6 dormitory
• try Thai food in “Madam Musur” or “Moonshine bar” – you can find more good and quiet restaurant in this area (about 200 baht for 1 dish)
• take tuk-tuk ride – anywhere (20 baht pp)
• ‎oil massage 1h (190 baht)

2 day:

• breakfast in Madam Musur
• ‎have a walk to Grand Palace. It’s a complex of gilded buildings. Very crowded. (500 baht)
• Wat pho – the gold big Buddha (100 baht)
• Wat Arun by ferry (4 baht)- the best temple for us – you can take greetings for luck from Buddha monk here (50 baht)
• take a taxi boat from Wat Arun to metro (ferry stops at Marina Dept) (20 baht)
• shopping in Terminal 21 or The Emporium
• you can see Soi cowboy street near Terminal 21 mall (red light street with prostitiutes)

3 day:

• breakfast at Moonshine bar
• Damnoen Saduak Floating Market – you can get here by taxi (boat for 6ppl – 4000 baht)
• Chang Puak Camp Damnoensaduak – you can see here: settlement of long neck women, ATV ride, an elephant ride (don’t do it, you’re paying just for elephant’s pain https://expertvagabond.com/elephants-in-thailand/) – about 500 baht per 1 attraction
• flight to Krabi – remember that in Bankgok there are two airports Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi. They are located 60km (1.5h) from each other. Check your ticket! (700 baht/pp)

Useful tips

• Khaosan is very good location, but party is all the night – no sleeping 🙂
• don’t take too much cash – you can withdraw money everywhere and rate is a little bit lower, but you feel safe
• take money and passports with you if there is no safe in room (check all the time locker if it’s closed correctly!!!)
• dentist is 3xcheaper than Australia and service is very good ( we went to Smile Dental Clinic in Sukhumvit)
• at Chang Puak Camp Damnoensaduak the best option is to meet long Neck or ATV ride

Krabi (1 night)

3 day:

• The moment hostel (really good accommodation)
• have a beer in Roots Rock Reggae Bar (atmosphere inside is amazing)

4 day:

• relax in Phrase Nang beach area
• take a private boat to Railay beach (150 baht) and do kayaking there
• after kayaking you should go to Krabi town to pier where is a boat to Phi Phi island (100 baht)
• go to Phi Phi – the last boat is at 3:30pm or 4:30pm on Fridays (300/400 baht)

• the best place to buy tickets to Phi Phi is Nang beach

Phi Phi island (2 nights):

5 day:

• The apache – hostel in front of beach. Hard party in the night
• have a dinner (we ate Mexican food in
  Banana bar – 7/10)
• find a private boat for travelling around beaches tomorrow (we found for 7500 baht
• in the night have the best party in your life at the Phi Phi beaches clubs

6 day:

• breakfast and go for private boat trip to see: Monkey Beach, Bamboo Island, Maya Bay, Nui Beach, snorkelling in the night you can see glare plankton (7500 baht per boat)
• do a walk to Phi Phi Island Lookout – view is amazing from there
• dinner and souvenirs shopping

Useful tips

• good idea is to buy a waterproof bag before a boat (good souvenir as well) – 270 baht
• try a fresh mint smoothie in one of the stalls

Phuket:

7 day:

• Calypso – really good and cheap hotel – 300 baht for double bed
• breakfast around the hostel
• rent scooter (200 baht/scooter)
• do a walk on Patong Beach (eat polish pierogi here)
• visit Paradise Beach
• eat dinner in the city
• find a trip to Similan Island (700 bath/pp)

8 day:

• Similan Island – snorkelling trip (breakfast, lunch and all equipment included – pickup around 6 am from the hostel and drop off at the airport)
• fly to Bali

Useful tips

• you should have driving license for driving scooter just in case (for renting just one passport needed) – we didn’t have
